DIY Purple Haven’s Non‑Toxic Lavender Laundry Soap

Purple Haven’s Non‑Toxic Lavender Laundry Soap

A gentle, effective, farm-crafted recipe made with pure Purple Haven lavender essential oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup washing soda (sodium carbonate)
  • 1 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
  • 1 cup unscented liquid castile soap
  • 20–30 drops Purple Haven Lavender Essential Oil
  • ½ cup Epsom salt (softens water & boosts freshness)
  • ¼ cup white vinegar (natural fabric softener—used in the rinse cycle)

How to Make It

  1. Blend the dry base
In a large bowl, combine the washing soda, baking soda, and Epsom salt. Stir until the mixture looks even and smooth.
  2. Add the castile soap
Slowly pour in the liquid castile soap while mixing. This prevents lumps and helps the mixture form a soft, scoopable texture.
  3. Infuse with Purple Haven lavender
Add 20–30 drops of Purple Haven Lavender Essential Oil. Mix well so the soothing scent spreads throughout the mixture. This gives your detergent its signature calming aroma and natural cleansing boost.
  4. Jar your creation
Scoop the finished mixture into an airtight glass jar or container. Label it as Purple Haven’s Non‑Toxic Lavender Laundry Soap so it stands proud on the shelf.

How to Use

  • Use 2–3 tablespoons per load, depending on size and soil level.
  • For extra heavy loads, add an extra tablespoon of washing soda if needed.
  • Add ¼ cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle (not into the jar mixture). This naturally softens fabric and helps remove any lingering residues without leaving a vinegar smell.

Purple Haven Tip

Store your detergent in a cool, dry spot. This recipe is naturally low‑sudsing, making it perfect for both standard and HE washers.
