DIY Lavender Vanilla Extract Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 whole vanilla beans
  • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender buds
  • 1 cup vodka (or food-grade alcohol)
  • 1 clean glass jar with a tight lid

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vanilla Beans
    Slice the vanilla beans lengthwise to expose the seeds for faster infusion.
  2. Combine Ingredients
    Place the vanilla beans and dried lavender buds into the glass jar.
  3. Add Alcohol
    Pour in 1 cup of vodka until beans and lavender are fully submerged.
  4. Seal & Shake
    Close the jar tightly and shake gently.
  5. Infuse
    Store in a cool, dark place for 6–8 weeks, shaking weekly.
  6. Strain & Bottle
    After infusion, strain out solids and pour extract into a clean bottle.
